Another Priming Day: 6.6 hrs

July 15, 2020

After a few days of looking at really the ugly pushrod tubes, I decided to redo the primer on them. I originally used a paintbrush to put it on, and while it was “primed” it looked terrible.

I spent hours with an angle wheel and scotch-brite pads removing all the old primer. Once everything was back down to bare metal and cleaned up, I set up the paint booth in the garage. I had to prime the lower wing skins and a few other small pieces as well. Now the pushrod tubes actually look like something I’m not embarrassed to show people, so that’s an improvement. Wing skins are also now 100% ready to be riveted in place.
