Day 37 – Not All Days Are Fun

None of us were at 100% but we set off anyway after some McDonald’s.

We’d planned to make it further but a little over four miles is all we had in us. The high was in the low forties, it never stopped raining, and I was still dealing with diarrhea and dehydration. Overall it was a shitty (pun intended) day.

Prairie Dog grabbed a shuttle back to where he hopped off to make up the miles he missed. He pulled a long day and managed to catch up to us at the shelter. With the rain and lows in the 30’s we’re all packed in to the shelter, which probably isn’t a good idea so soon after the stomach bug going around. Hopefully we’re all resistant at this point.

I know my clothes and shoes will still be wet in the morning and that’s going to be unpleasant. These are the crappy days on the trail, gotta embrace the suck.

Day 37 Mileage: 4.2 mi [Erwin, TN -> Curley Maple Gap Shelter]
Total Mileage: 356.6 mi
