Day 91 – Setting out alone

It’s really exciting that my mileage count is in the 1000’s now. I know it’s just another 100 mile mark, but for some reason it’s a huge mental boost for me.

The rest of the tramily only wanted to do 15 miles today, so I left camp around 9am while they were still in bed. I’ll see them again down the trail, but right now I’m more eager to get the miles behind me than they are.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Festus and Bubbles again, I think they’ll be a big morale boost for me as well. At this point, I’ll take all I can get.

The end of the Shenandoah’s is called “The Rollercoaster” and famous for the amount of climbs and descents in a short span.

I’m about halfway through that region now, and honestly it hasn’t been too bad. After I get out of it tomorrow, it’s pretty easy terrain into town.

Day 91 Mileage: 18.4 mi [Whiskey Hollow Shelter -> Tent Site]
Total Mileage: 1013.9 mi
