Floor Nut Plates Part II: 8.0 hrs

June 18, 2020

Today the glove was still inflated so we took a soapy bottle of water and started spraying everything. No bubbles could be found so we called it good and cleaned everything up. We’re waiting on some click-bond stand-offs to be able to tie down the wires for the fuel level sender before we reinstall the tank onto the wing.

Still Sealed Left Fuel Tank

I installed as many plate nuts as I could in the floor before I ran out. Not surprisingly, the quick build kit did not come with enough to make the floors removable, Van’s expects the floor to be riveted in. We put a hole bunch more on order and finish this work when they come in.

Additionally I deburred and dimpled the stringers for the forward top fuselage skin. I also drilled out the 2 rivets that weren’t supposed to be installed before the skin and cleaned everything up to get it ready to rivet back together.
