Right Aileron, Flap Rigging and Fairing: 13.0 hrs

August 27, 30, 31 – 2020

Since the right wing was now installed, it was time to do all the rigging work on that side. This was a basic repeat from the left side so there’s not much new information here. Since we didn’t seat the flap hard against the bottom fuselage skin on the right side, after adjusting the flap push rod so it would be faired with the aileron in trail, we put a little bend in the skin so that it rested up against the fuselage bottom.

Now that both sides were in and we confirmed the sticks were neutral and where they should be, I installed the roll servo springs and connected them up to the sticks. The instructions say to reuse the stock bolts, but there wasn’t enough thread showing through the lock-nuts and I had to go up a size to make everything legal. I used a little bit of heat shrink tubing over the safety wire to keep things from being too pokey.
